The 9th China–Eurasia Expo opened in Xinjiang, China, with the participation of Iranian companies.

At the expo, Iranian knowledge-based companies are showcasing their latest achievements and products. At the opening ceremony of the dedicated hall of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the China–Eurasia Expo, the Deputy Minister of Interior for Economic Affairs stated that the presence of prominent leaders from Xinjiang, as well as ambassadors of friendly and neighboring countries, demonstrated a collective determination to expand cross-border cooperation and uphold shared human values.

Mr. Mehdi Doosti described this gathering as a reminder of the same spirit that, centuries ago, transformed the Silk Road into a major route for the exchange of culture, knowledge, and goods. He added that the road that once connected East and West continues today with renewed strength, illuminating the path toward future interactions.

The Deputy Minister of Interior for Economic Affairs described Iran and China as two ancient and enduring civilizations that have long been connected by inseparable bonds of history, culture, economy, and friendship. He stated: “Today, Xinjiang has become a golden bridge connecting Iran and China, and in Iran, we regard this position as a valuable opportunity to further deepen our longstanding relations and open new horizons for cooperation.”

Mr. Wang Jianxin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Regional Committee, also described increased cooperation between this autonomous region of China and Iran as an achievable goal during the opening ceremony of the Iranian Pavilion at the expo. He announced the region’s full readiness to comprehensively expand its interactions and cooperation with Iran.

The Pavilion (Dedicated Hall) of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the 2026 China–Eurasia Expo has been established with the aim of showcasing Iran’s knowledge-based capabilities and achievements and creating new opportunities for knowledge-based and technology-driven economic cooperation.

The pavilion, organized in cooperation with the Center for Progress and Transformation Cooperation of the Presidential Office, the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beijing, provides a platform for showcasing Iran’s scientific, industrial, and innovative capabilities.

At Iran’s dedicated hall, visitors can not only explore the products and achievements of Iranian technology and knowledge-based companies, but also experience a new narrative of Iran—one that brings together identity, history, innovation, and a forward-looking vision.

The 9th China–Eurasia Expo has commenced in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwestern China, with the central theme of this edition being “New Opportunities along the Silk Road, New Momentum for Eurasian Cooperation.”

According to official statistics released by the expo’s organizing committee, 49 countries, regions, and international organizations are participating in this edition, while 27 countries and regions, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, have established dedicated national pavilions.

More than 3,000 domestic and international companies and institutions are also presenting their latest achievements and capabilities across an exhibition area of 140,000 square meters.

This year, the expo has been designed with a new approach across six specialized sections. Among them, the “New Quality Productive Forces” section, covering artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and biotechnology, and the “Green Development” section, dedicated for the first time to showcasing low-carbon technologies and clean energy, have attracted the most attention. Organizers emphasize that this edition is being held with the aim of meeting environmental standards and as a “carbon-neutral” event.

More than 80 trade and investment promotion events are also expected to be held on the sidelines of the expo. According to data from China’s Ministry of Commerce, the total trade in goods between China and Central Asian countries exceeded $100 billion for the first time in 2025, making China the region’s largest trading partner and source of investment.
